Federations, organisers and tournament halls 10

Behind the tournaments stand a few organisers and the halls they borrow. The Almaty chess federation and the city branch of the national federation run the city championships, the Almaty Blitz Cup and the Almaty Classic marathon; a city championship for girls carries a date in late October 2026. Almaty Management University opened its own chess room in April 2026 with the national federation, for students and schoolchildren, and hosts its AlmaU Chess Cup.

National events have used Pavilion 9 of the Atakent grounds, the Eurasian Technological University on Tole Bi Street and the Republican Physics and Mathematics School on Bukhar Zhyrau Boulevard. West of the city, the Nur-Aman sports complex in Kaskelen hosts stages of the Almaty region cup, and the Kaskelen and Talgar district federations hold events of their own. Orash Chess is known only from its qualifying tournaments, and Chess Pak Family from a training tournament and two city championship semi-finals it co-organised with the federation.
