For an adult who wants a game rather than a lesson, Almaty offers tournaments more than open rooms. The Debut club on Kabanbay Batyr Street hosts the Almaty Blitz Cup, a numbered series run from spring to autumn, and Kaissa Chess Art Center holds rated blitz events at the centre.
