Saturday is the busiest day for Almaty sections. Champion children’s chess club on Abay Avenue fills Saturday from morning to late afternoon with groups for each rank category, some of them play lessons where pupils practise at the board, and repeats part of the timetable on Sunday.

Chess Empire plays the stages of its pupil leagues, Liga B and Liga C, on Saturdays and Sundays across its branches, Gagarin Park, Debut, Halyk Arena, Almaty Arena and Almaty 1 among them. World of Chess on Gagarin Avenue meets its professional group, led by a grandmaster, on Saturday afternoon as well as on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
